The Butler County Recycling Program provides rural communities in Butler County an easier and more convenient way to recycle. A recycling trailer is available at Benton City Hall on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:00 am till noon.
WHAT CAN YOU RECYCLE?
NEWSPAPER- needs to be clean and dry. Inserts ok.
GLASS- Clear, green, and brown. Rinsed. Rings and lids removed.
ALUMINUM CANS- Rinsed and crushed.
TIN CANS- Rinsed. Labels ok.
MAGAZINES- Needs to be clean and dry.
HDPE #2 PLASTIC OPAQUE- Rinsed and lids removed.
HDPE #2 PLASTIC COLORED- Rinsed and lids removed.
PETE #1 PLASTIC- Rinsed and lids removed.
CARDBOARD CORRUGATED- Needs to be clean and dry.
MIXED PAPER / JUNK MAIL- Needs to be clean and dry.
The City of Benton also provides the citizens of the city with used oil recycling and a compost pile. The used oil recycling area is located on the east side of Benton city hall and the compost pile is located in the 100 block of South Kansas street.
